The story of Trace Creek Construction begins with Sam Howard, the company’s founder and president. Sam grew up on a small farm in Lewis County, Kentucky. It was while volunteering to build a church that a local general contractor hired Sam on fulltime as a laborer/carpenter. After a number of years traveling to many states and building condominiums, community centers, physician offices, detention centers and other various construction projects, Sam’s knowledge of the industry grew. In 1993, he decided to venture out for himself and started Trace Creek Construction, named after the rural road of his childhood home.

History

Starting as a small construction company, Sam and his first employees shared a common dream — to take on more responsibility and larger projects. Some of the first projects were a new athletic complex for the Tom Browning Boys and Girls Club and a new Dialysis Clinic in Maysville, Kentucky. And, one of the first major endeavors was the renovation and new addition of the Owingsville Elementary School.

Besides constructing buildings, Sam and his team also wanted to build a financially secure, rapidly growing company with a solid reputation. Standing behind a commitment to quality, Trace Creek Construction has managed and built projects ranging from small commercial/industrial renovations to a 28 million dollar education facility.

Today, Trace Creek Construction has become a growing and successful company that’s known to exceed the client’s expectations. We treat every project as if it’s our first — with unequaled quality.
