Garrard County Student Athletic Fields and Facilities

Project Description

This multi-phase athletic facilities project was completed in two consecutive phases and began with extensive site development, including mass earthmoving, demolition, utility installation, retaining wall construction, and other critical site improvements. All new buildings were constructed using CMU masonry load-bearing walls with standing seam metal roofing and TPO membrane systems, ensuring long-term structural durability.

The football complex features a full synthetic turf field surrounded by an asphalt track with athletic surfacing, along with integrated long-jump lanes, a pole-vault area, and a dedicated shot-put facility. Supporting structures include a 9,808-square-foot home fieldhouse with locker rooms, weight room, coaches’ offices, and public restrooms; a 5,670-square-foot building housing concessions, visitor and referee locker rooms; a 408-square-foot press box; and grandstand seating for 1,761 home spectators and 470 visitors.

The baseball and softball facilities each include a full synthetic infield paired with a natural grass outfield equipped with irrigation. Both complexes include CMU masonry home and visitor dugouts, a two-story press box building with concessions and restrooms, and 215-seat bleachers. Independent bullpens serve both fields, and baseball additionally includes a dedicated batting cage.

The project also includes a tennis facility featuring three asphalt courts with athletic surfacing and bleacher seating for 108 spectators, as well as a 749-square-foot storage and maintenance building to support operations across the athletic campus. Together, these facilities create a comprehensive, modern athletic complex designed to serve student-athletes and the broader community for years to come.
