KCTCS – ECTC OTB Phase 1 Renovation

Project Description

As Construction Manager for the Elizabethtown Community & Technical College Occupational Technology Building (OTB) Project, Trace Creek is overseeing both the Phase 1A Addition and the Phase 1 Renovation. Phase 1A encompasses all sitework and exterior improvements for the entire project, along with the full construction of a 13,500-square-foot building addition. This addition includes specialized program spaces such as a clean room, a Machine Tooling & Computerized Manufacturing Lab and classroom, an Instrumentation Lab and classroom, as well as new restrooms and building support areas including storage, janitorial, and boiler service rooms. Our team is managing all trades and construction activities required to deliver these facilities to the college with full functionality and long-term durability.

Concurrently, Trace Creek is managing the 38,000-square-foot renovation of the existing Occupational Technology Building as part of Renovation Phase 1. This work focuses on critical infrastructure upgrades—electrical, mechanical, and plumbing improvements—along with a complete reconfiguration of the interior floor plan to support expanded training programs in Welding, CAD, Electrical Technology, and Robotics. The renovation includes new classrooms and labs, modernized and accessible restrooms, and a new I.T. suite to enhance campus operations. Exterior improvements include re-cladding the entire façade with metal panels, storefront and curtainwall systems, and brick veneer, along with select roof replacement and repair. All areas identified within the Phase 1B boundary are being included for bid as part of this phase, ensuring a comprehensive approach to the modernization of the OTB facility.
