Mercer County Elementary School
Project Description
The New Mercer County Elementary School project consists of a 77,182-square-foot, single-story facility designed to serve preschool through second-grade students. The building includes a code-compliant storm shelter and elevated mechanical platforms, ensuring both safety and operational efficiency.
The structural design features masonry load-bearing construction, complemented by roof systems utilizing metal joists in some areas and cold-formed truss assemblies in others. Exterior envelope components include metal panel roofing, PVC membrane roofing, masonry veneer, metal wall panels, aluminum storefronts, and curtainwall systems, all selected for durability and long-term performance.
New site development elements support full campus functionality, while major building systems include Mechanical, Plumbing, Fire Protection, Electrical, and Voice/Data infrastructure. Technology enhancements feature a state-of-the-art Audio Enhancement System, providing improved communication and instructional capability throughout the school.
