Morehead Conference Center
Project Description
Trace Creek was honored to work with the Morehead Tourism Commission to create a large conference center designed to be a focal point for the community. Trace Creek worked closely with the architects and city leaders to construct the 30,304 square foot conference center, complete with a 3,328 square foot second floor mechanical mezzanine.
The foundation work of the conference center included drilled piers with grade beams and a concrete slab, while the structure was a combination of steel columns, beams and concrete block bearing steel joists with a metal roof deck. The building envelope was created using brick masonry, cast stone and a glazed aluminum curtain wall.
The Morehead Conference Center was designed to be a center for community life, and is delivering on that promise. The conference center houses two main exhibit halls, a large meeting room and an elevated stage for theatrical and musical productions.
Trace Creek is proud to deliver the City of Morehead with a showpiece that provides the community with a central meeting and entertainment space that will improve the lives of residents for generations to come.
